Riolaine’s founder, Sahani Chandraratna, has a background in public health and social work and has worked in various settings, from the government to nonprofits and the UN. Her roles have included community engagement, project management, strategy, research, and communication. On topics ranging from sexual health to youth and democracy to immunization equity and beyond.

At every experience, she felt lucky to work with dedicated individuals engaged in essential work. However, too often, she saw groundbreaking insight and crucial information get stuck in academics’ drawers or lost on politicians’ bookshelves. Too rarely did it reach the people who would benefit from it most.

Riolaine aims to change this. By combining our team’s technical experience and creative skills, we have created something unique – we believe this pairing facilitates dynamic communication focused on knowledge translation that can make a difference for the better. And, together with our partners, we can break the pattern.
